Building a learning platform used by 60,000 students a year
Pearson felt that their management and administration of BTEC assessment and exam administration required updating. With several disparate databases and applications, plus a reliance on paper-based processes and manual uploads, a full digital transformation was decided upon.
The nature of the academic cycle presented considerable timescale challenges in achieving this. Amdaris was chosen for the task.
All the requirements were researched which enabled the project to be broken down into clearly defined segments. Workshops were run to better understand workflows while front end UI and UX were also researched.
Ensuring old and new software could integrate was important to control costs and ensure that existing assets were used. When completed, the new system could handle: course registration, exam booking, invoicing, exams, delivering CBT, authoring papers, commissioning and paying of authors, marking, grading and result release and certificate printing.
