RUBY DEVELOPER RESPONSIBILITIES
The main purpose of the role is to develop and support cutting-edge Ruby projects and contribute in all phases of the development lifecycle. You will be part of a full-stack creative team that is responsible for all aspects of the ongoing software development from the initial specification, through to developing, testing and launching.
As a Ruby Developer you will be writing server-side web application logic in Ruby, around the framework Rails. You will develop back-end components, connect the application with the other (often third-party) web services and support the front-end developers by integrating their work with the application.
The successful Ruby Developer will need to design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable and reliable Ruby code, identify bottlenecks and bugs and devise solutions to these problems. You will integrate data storage solutions and user-facing elements developed by front-end developers with server side logic. You will also have to help maintain code quality, organisation and automatisation.
RUBY DEVELOPER REQUIREMENTS
- Proven work experience as a Ruby on Rails developer
- Good understanding of the syntax of Ruby and its nuances and object-oriented programming
- Familiarity with concepts of MVC, Mocking, ORM, and RESTful
- Good understanding of server-side templating languages and CSS pre-processors
- A firm grasp of object oriented analysis and design
- Understanding of fundamental design principles behind a scalable application
- Passion for writing great, simple, clean, efficient Ruby code
